Teaching School Alliance Teaching schools are strong schools led by strong leaders; centres of excellence charged with supporting other schools to deliver high-quality training, development and support to new and experienced school staff. The Spencer Academies Trust’s ‘outstanding’ George Spencer Academy (GSA) has a seven year record as the lead school for the local Teaching Schools Alliance (TSA). Research School Research Schools are a network of schools responsible for generating and sharing best practice in education, including supporting the use of evidence to improve teaching practice. A collobartion of the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) and Institute for Effective Education (IEE), Research Schools work with other schools in the area to achieve a number of different objectives. Maths Hub George Spencer Academy is the lead school for the East Midlands West Maths Hub. Maths Hubs are the mechanism through which schools and colleges lead system improvement in mathematics education. Lead schools are charged with harnessing maths leadership and expertise within an area, developing and sharing best practice. They are part of the wider-development of school-led system leadership in England. MAT Development Partner The Spencer Academies Trust has been asked by the Department for Education to provide peer support as a MAT Development Partner. The MAT Development Programme has been offered to 25 multi-academy groups, and is designed to give supported trusts the opportunity to explore sustainable operational processes including those for financial health and efficiency; governance and risk management, and school improvement and staffing.
