The Mease Spencer Academy

The Mease Spencer Academy is a brand new school which opened in September 2019.

The school is part of Derbyshire County Council’s development plan for education in South Derbyshire.  It caters primarily for the educational needs of the children from the new homes built in South Derbyshire, particularly Hilton Valley and strives to be central to community development.

We want all our children to experience what it feels like to be loved and looked after by close friends, to achieve academic success, to question and challenge what they hear and see. We want them to explore the world and human nature and develop a moral compass that helps them make difficult decisions.

We passionately believe in a need for our pupils to become life-long learners in a fast-moving world. We can only begin to imagine what our children’s futures will look like but there is absolute certainty they will be the individuals to shape and change our world for the better.
