Inkersall Spencer Academy is a friendly school in a warm and supportive community in Staveley, on the edge of Chesterfield. The school has an active record of action in the community and of volunteer engagement, which helps children to be confident and assured. Standards of behaviour are amongst the best across Spencer Trust primaries, and there is a strong focus on attainment.

Children have access to lovely surroundings, with learning designed around access to outdoor space. Inkersall uses the Grow Curriculum, which teaches literacy and other core subjects through books chosen and explored throughout the term. Children are allowed to keep the books selected for extended study, and to reflect on their learning across curriculum areas.

Inkersall academised in 2015, and is awaiting Ofsted inspection as an academy: however, continuous assessment reflects the conclusion of the last Ofsted report, carried out in 2015. Children are achieving well, and the quality of teaching is good.
