The latest Primary to join Spencer Academies Trust Millside Spencer Academy has opened its doors for the first cohort of students for the new school term.
Located in East Leake, Millside Spencer Academy is part of the County Council’s development plan for education in the East Leake area of Rushcliffe. Students from across East Leake joined their teachers and support staff for the start of term, and have settled in well to the learning village.
Principal Sophia Thorne, is thrilled to welcome the new intake of students to Millside;
‘It’s been absolutely delightful to have the children in, seeing them learning, playing, and settling into Millside Spencer Academy quickly. There is a tangible happy buzz around the school, and we are really excited for our first term together.
We are looking forward to inviting members of our local community in to look around our learning village, and experience the Millside magic in the coming months, ready for our first reception admission in our permanent home next September.’
Reception student Quinn, who has joined Millside Spencer Academy for the start of her school journey said, ‘I love coming to school and playing with my friends. I have lots of fun playing in the tepee.’
Angela O ‘Brien Director of Primary Education at Spencer Academies Trust,
‘Opening Millside Spencer Academy in this community is an exciting time for everyone and we are grateful for the work of many partners to get the school open on time.
