National Apprenticeships Week 2021 is now upon us and to mark the 14th year, Spencer Academies Trust are excited to share the launch of the Spencer Apprenticeships – a new arm of work within the Spencer family committed to high quality professional training for the education sector, supporting excellence in education and securing best possible outcomes for learners.
Paul West, CEO of the Spencer Academies Trust, said, ‘We believe that we grow the effectiveness and sustainability of our schools by developing the people within them. Our step into the delivery of the apprenticeships allows us to offer more development pathways for staff and to support schools to achieve more.’
In its first year, we pleased to launch a new opportunity exclusively to our George Spencer SCITT Partner Schools – Spencer Apprenticeships is pleased to offer the Teacher Apprenticeship, a salaried route into teaching securing Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) within 1 year. The collaboration between these two arms of work allows us to offer an alternative route to train and retain staff and ensure high quality teaching in all our settings.
Caroline Arnold, Director for ITT and the George Spencer SCITT shared, ‘We are delighted to be a part of the new Teacher Apprentice programme with Spencer Apprenticeships as I believe that this will offer a much needed funded opportunity for school staff to train and develop as well as enabling schools to create a workforce suited to their needs.’
As an employer-provider, we bring our passion and expertise to this new field and look forward to future developments. For more information, please visit our website and get in touch with the SCITT Team if you have any questions.
